    Judy Lysaker (1947-December 2022) was instrumental in launching State High's journalism program and taught English and Journalism for 35 years. She was known for taking students to attend the annual CSPA convention and for supporting students' aspirations in broadcast journalism and journalism careers. Pete Lysaker (1943-2023) was her husband and supporter throughout her teaching career. The fund was created by their family to honor Judy's memory and legacy. The fund was renamed in 2023 to include Pete's name following his passing.
