Overview

Infant Toddler Proficiency Certificate Program

Overview: A free certificate program offered in partnership with the Early Childhood Education Professional Development Organization (ECE PDO) that builds understanding and skill level for working with infants and toddlers while offering a full college experience in a supportive environment.

Geographic Scope: Pennsylvania (PA)

Program Components:

  • Three college-level courses taught by experienced First Up instructors

  • Choice of institution: Community College of Philadelphia, Delaware County Community College, or Esperanza College at Eastern University

  • Esperanza instructor fluent in Spanish and English for additional support

  • Each class is 45 hours of instruction

  • Courses run from late August to early June

  • Eligible for 9 college credits upon successful matriculation and completion of one required course at partnering institution

  • Instructor office hours and individual help with writing and technology

  • Technology assistance available including computer loans for those who need them

    • Eligibility Requirements:

  • Participants selected via application process

  • Full-time employment of 25 hours or more

  • Residence in Pennsylvania

  • Desire to enroll and continue in college courses
