Program Description

NorthSouth Foundation provides scholarships to undergraduate students entering professional courses based on merit and financial need. This is an annual award that continues until graduation as long as students maintain high academic standards. The foundation has distributed more than 20,000 scholarships.

    Eligible Courses

  • Degree in Engineering (B.E./B.Tech, 1st year & Lateral Entry in 2nd year from Diploma)
  • MBBS (Medicine)
  • BDS (Dentistry)
  • B.Pharma (Pharmacy)
  • B.Sc(Ag) (Agriculture)
  • B.Sc(N) (Nursing)
  • Diploma in Engineering (3-year Polytechnic)
  • Diploma in Agriculture
  • BA.B.Ed & B.Sc.B.Ed (Limited to Regional Institutes of Education of NCERT Ajmer, Bhopal, Bhubaneswar, Mysore, Shillong)

    Eligible Schools/Colleges

  • Government colleges: All students admitted to government colleges are eligible
  • Private Engineering/Diploma colleges: May be considered for specific B.Tech/B.E. courses:
  • - B.Tech in Computer Science - Electrical and Communication Engineering - Electronics and Communication Engineering - B.Tech in Cyber Security - B.Tech in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning - B.Tech in Data Science - Automobile Engineering - Applied Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering - Metallurgical Engineering - Diploma courses in Electrical, Mechanical, Automobile Engineering, Applied Electronics, and Instrumentation Engineering, and Metallurgical Engineering

Private college students must: Have residence in local area of college, submit BPL/ration cards, and attend interview by Chapter Coordinator

Eligibility Criteria

Starting Year: All students must be in 1st year of study while applying (exception: Lateral entry Engineering students may apply for 2nd year)

Family Income: Should not exceed Rs.2,00,000 per annum (subject to income certificate and verification)

School Education: Should have studied in government schools; private school students eligible if total school fees per year less than Rs.50,000

Minimum Marks:

  • B.E./B.Tech (Regular Entry): ≥85% in 10th and 12th exams (exception for Odisha, UP, Bihar, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, MP, Rajasthan, NE states: ≥80%)

  • Lateral Entry (Diploma to 2nd year): ≥85% in 10th and ≥80% in Diploma (exceptions apply)

  • B.Ed (4-year): ≥85% in 10th and 12th (exceptions apply)

  • MBBS, B.Pharma, BDS, B.Sc(Ag), B.Sc(N): ≥85% in 10th and 12th (exceptions apply)

  • Diploma in Engg/Agri: ≥80% in 10th exam
  • Gap Years:

  • MBBS, BDS, B.Pharma, B.E., B.Tech, B.Sc(Ag): Maximum 2 years after passing 12th exams

  • All other courses: No gap year criterion
  • Common Entrance Rank/Merit:

  • MBBS: All India NEET Rank ≤30,000 (private colleges: "A" Category/Convenor/Govt. quota)

  • Engineering (Direct/Lateral): All India JEE Rank ≤85,000 or State CET Rank ≤4,000

  • BDS: NEET Rank ≤1,20,000

  • Diploma in Engg: State CET Rank ≤1,500

  • Diploma in Agri: State CET Rank ≤500

  • B.Pharma: State CET Rank ≤4,000

  • B.Sc(Ag), B.Sc(N): State CET Rank ≤4,000

  • B.Sc.B.Ed, BA.B.Ed: Common Entrance Exam Rank ≤2,000
  • Duration: Every year till completion of chosen course, subject to conditions

    Renewal Conditions

    Yearly Renewal Requirements: Students must pass all subjects semester-wise in one attempt without any backlog. If a student fails in one or more subjects with a backlog, scholarship shall not be renewed even if those subjects are passed in subsequent attempt.

      Interview Requirement

    • Student and at least one parent should have personal interview with Chapter Coordinator
    • Preferably face-to-face; video call via smartphone acceptable if face-to-face not feasible

  • #### How to Apply - Fresh Applications

    1. Locate Chapter Coordinator: Find the India Chapter Coordinator nearest to your college. If none nearby, choose one near your residence. If unable to locate, apply through Hyderabad chapter.

    2. Online Application:
    - Register on the North South Foundation Portal
    - Submit online application (link provided on website)
    - Form is dynamic - software will not allow proceeding if mandatory eligibility criteria not met

    3. Submit Hard Copy:
    - Print hard copy of application after online submission
    - Submit to your Chapter Coordinator within one week of filing online application
    - All documents must be checked carefully and self-certified/self-attested

    4. Important Note: Scholarship is on first-come-first-served basis; apply early to avoid being left out

    1. CET/JEE/NEET rank card or seat allotment order showing the rank, self-certified
    2. Application form signed with stamp by Principal/Dean/HOD of the college where student is studying
    3. Certificates showing marks secured from class 10th to 12th - self-attested
    4. Income Certificate (current year - 2025-26) issued by Revenue Official or competent authority
    5. Self-attested Aadhar card
    6. Passport size photograph of the student (affixed on application)
    7. For private school/college students (10th, 12th, Diploma): Certificate from school showing amount of fees paid
    8. Ration card/BPL card - self-certified
    9. Fee payment receipt from school (if students passed both class 10th and 12th from private schools)

    #### Documents Required - Renewal Applicants

    1. Mark sheet of previous year/semesters - self-certified by student
    2. Fees paid receipt(s) for current year
    3. Certificate from institutions where student rendered seva (community service)
    4. Write-up by student on work done during 50 hours of Seva

    #### Renewal Application Process

    1. Apply for renewal online using renewal portal link
    2. Fill in details online
    3. Follow similar documentation process as fresh applications
    4. Renewal applications processed July-March alongside fresh applications
