Summary

Breakthrough T1D is offering a funding opportunity focused on advancing innovative organoid and organ-on-a-chip models for Type I Diabetes (T1D). This initiative aims to enhance and validate in vitro models that are relevant to human biology, facilitating the evaluation of pharmacological and genetic interventions. By doing so, it seeks to accelerate the translation of these models into clinical research. Grants of up to $300,000 are available for academic and industry partners over a one-year period.

Overview

Note: An approved Letter of Intent (LOI) is required prior to the submission of a full proposal. The deadlines are indicated above. Breakthrough T1D Founded in 1970 by families whose loved ones had been diagnosed with type 1 diabetes (T1D), Breakthrough T1D is a tax-exempt nonprofit 501(c)3 organization. We are opening doors that were once closed by T1D diagnosis. We lead the way to more effective solutions by connecting the brightest minds to advance treatments, influence policy, and improve access to care. By driving innovation forward, Breakthrough T1D will make type 1 diabetes a condition of the past. In vitro Disease Modeling: Type I Diabetes-on-aChip Platforms for Translational Research Summary Breakthrough T1D is launching a new funding opportunity to support advancement of cuttingedge organoid- and organ on a chip-based disease models of Type I Diabetes (T1D). This initiative aims to validate and refine existing human-relevant in vitro models of T1D as tools for evaluation of pharmacological and genetic interventions with the goal of accelerating translation to clinical studies. This Request for Applications (RFA) will provide grants to academic investigators and industry partners of up to $300,000 over one year.
