Program Overview:
Spur Community Foundation's Impact Grants support projects that are catalytic in nature and have the potential to drive substantial change within an organization or address a pressing community need.

Geographic Scope:
Wood River Valley, Idaho

Focus Areas:

  • Youth programs and education

  • Mental health and wellbeing

  • Environmental stewardship and wildfire prevention

  • Support for vulnerable populations

  • Eligibility:

  • Nonprofit organizations serving the Wood River Valley

  • Organizations must demonstrate substantial potential to respond effectively to a priority community need or increase capacity to meet priority community needs
  • Award Information:

  • Individual grants up to $50,000

  • 2025 cycle awarded $255,000 total to 11 organizations

  • Funds allocated by Spur are awarded in full each cycle

  • Background:
    Since 2017, Spur has awarded over $3 million to local nonprofits. Grants are evaluated by Spur's Grants Committee with consideration given to community needs and opportunities, then reviewed and confirmed by the Board of Directors. 100% of donor contributions go directly to nonprofits as operating expenses are covered by board members and volunteers.

    How to Apply

    Application Process

    1. Submit Letter of Inquiry (LOI)
    - Due: February 1 annually
    - Submit through Nonprofit Portal at spurfoundation.org

    2. Full Application (if invited)
    - Selected organizations invited to submit full proposals
    - Detailed project information and budget requested

    3. Review Process
    - Spur's Grants Committee reviews applications
    - Committee evaluates based on:
    - Alignment with priority community needs
    - Organization capacity
    - Project feasibility and impact potential
    - Board of Directors reviews and confirms recommendations

    4. Award Notification
    - Winners announced following Board decision
