_NOTE: Applications are accepted on a rolling basis and are reviewed a minimum of 3 times per year. Proposal opportunities begin through conversations with a member of Spur’s board or staff._

Vision & Mission

At Spur Community Foundation, we believe impactful philanthropy helps ensure that the Wood River Valley is a robust, compassionate, and thriving community.

Our vision is that all members of the Wood River Valley community wholeheartedly acknowledge that an ecosystem of generosity enables their quality of life, prompts further philanthropy, and assures the character and values of this place remain intact for generations to come.

It is Spur’s mission to inspire effective philanthropy by helping people to give purposefully and local nonprofits to achieve maximum impact.

The Spur Community Foundation annually grants to dozens of organizations that serve Blaine County through its discretionary funds. We seek to award $500,000+ per year.

Programs & Projects

Supports the implementation, continuation, or expansion of programs that align with the organization's mission and objectives.

Eligibility

* Are determined to be tax-exempt by the IRS
* Actively and broadly serve the Blaine County/Wood River Valley community
* Address a local community need or opportunity

Ineligibility

* Individuals 
* Event or sports team sponsorships 
* Religious organizations for religious purposes 
* Political organizations or political campaigns 
* Graduate and post-graduate research
* Organizations that discriminate based on race, color, creed, age, sex, sexual orientation or national origin.
