Geographic Scope: Perth Amboy's Gateway Neighborhood only

Purpose: Provides quick-response support for eligible homeowners to complete critical repairs, weatherization, and accessibility improvements that impact a family's ability to remain safely in their home. Helps residents remain in their homes long-term.

Program Components

• A Brush with Kindness initiative
• Aging in Place support
• Gateway Neighborhood focus

Types of Repairs Supported

• Exterior repairs and minor interior repairs
• Accessibility improvements (including ramps or safety adaptations)
• Weatherization and safety upgrades
• Painting and basic landscaping
• Other critical repairs based on need and available funding

Eligibility Requirements

Homeowners must:

• Own and live in their home
• Live within Perth Amboy's Gateway Neighborhood
• Meet low-income eligibility guidelines
• Have repair needs that affect safety, accessibility, or housing stability

Final eligibility and project approval determined through intake and home assessment process
