Holocaust Educators Scholarship
Funder: The Jewish Federation of Greater Baton Rouge and Baton Rouge Jewish Film Festival
Program Overview:
Annual scholarship program that underwrites Holocaust educational programs for teachers in the Baton Rouge region by funding attendance at the Belfer National Conference for Educators.
- Location: United States Holocaust Memorial Museum, Washington, DC
- Timing: Held in July each year
- Cost to Participants: FREE (fully funded)
Conference Details
- Middle and high school educators
- Community college educators
- University educators
- Experience requirement: Five or less years of experience teaching about the Holocaust
Eligibility
- Full conference attendance (free)
- Access to Museum educators and scholars sharing Holocaust education strategies and approaches
- Survivor testimony sessions
- Extensive viewing time of the Holocaust Memorial Museum's Permanent Exhibition, "Remember the Children: Daniel's Story," and other special exhibitions
- Interactive learning center access (Wexner Learning Center)
- Seminar sessions on planning and implementing Holocaust education units for middle and high schools
- Set of educational materials
- $100 voucher to purchase Holocaust-related resources in the Museum Shop
