Geographic Scope: Service territory includes Brewster, Crockett, Culberson, Dimmit, Edwards, El Paso, Hudspeth, Jeff Davis, Kinney, Maverick, Pecos, Presidio, Reeves, Terrell, Uvalde, Val Verde, Webb and Zavala counties in Texas, and Eddy and Otero counties in New Mexico.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Current students who are candidates for 2025/2026 graduation

  • Have parents/legal guardians who are current RGEC members and receive electric power from RGEC, and are in good standing

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited public, private, or home high school program

  • Will be attending an accredited public or private university, college, or vocational/technical school full time in the U.S.

    4. Essay responses (anonymized - must not include family names, specific locations, or identifying information):
    - About yourself (hobbies, volunteer work, organizations)
    - Why you are applying for this scholarship
    - How you hope to use your education to benefit rural America
    - Which of the 7 Cooperative Principles is most important and why

    5. Applicant photo (required)
    - High resolution file
    - School photo preferred
    - Max file size: 256 MB

    6. Applicant consent and acknowledgments:
    - Certification that work is original and not plagiarized
    - Agreement that photo may be posted in magazines, newspapers, RGEC website, and social media
