Head Start & Early Head Start

Child development programs in collaboration with community service agencies providing expectant parents and families with children ages birth through five comprehensive support services to promote school readiness, positive parent-child interactions, self-sufficiency, and healthy lifestyles.

Geographic Scope: Grant, Iowa, Lafayette, and Richland counties

Services Include:

• Child development education
• Health and nutrition services
• Parent and program partnerships
• Family support, resource and referral

Head Start Eligibility

• Families living in Grant, Iowa, Lafayette and Richland Counties
• Meeting federal poverty income levels of 100% or below
• Some waivers of income requirements may be granted on a limited basis
• Children must be 3 years old by September 1 of the current year
• Program actively recruits families with special needs and disabilities

Early Head Start Eligibility

• Families living in Grant, Iowa, Lafayette and Richland counties
• Meeting federal poverty income levels of 100% or below
• Some waivers of income requirements may be granted on a limited basis
• Families must be expecting or have a child between 0-3 years of age
• Program actively recruits families with special needs and disabilities
