As the lead private partner for HCTF, the Hawai‘i Community Foundation holds and is responsible for the endowed fund that provides a permanent source of support for the grantmaking activities and other expenditures that support HCTF’s mission. Hawai‘i Children’s Trust Fund The Hawai‘i Children’s Trust Fund (HCTF) was established in 1993 by state legislation, Chapter 350B of the Hawai‘i Revised Statutes (HRS). Overview This multi-year (3-year) funding opportunity seeks to support programs that advance child abuse and neglect prevention efforts in Hawaiʻi through culturally responsive, communitydriven approaches. Funding priorities include: Prenatal to five programming to strengthen protective factors in early childhood.Sexual abuse prevention for elementary school-aged keiki, ensuring that young children and their families develop the knowledge and skills to foster safe and healthy relationships.Systems change efforts that influence public norms, policies, and institutional practices to prevent child abuse and neglect at a broader level. Grant Range: Up to $165,000 ($55,000 per year for three years) Target Population: Families with children ages 0-5 years old; children in elementary school who have experienced or at risk of experiencing sexual abuse; high-risk populations, and rural or remote communities.
