Responsive Grants

Responsive Grants are one way we partner with and support a broad array of communities and organizations as they are best suited to understand their priority needs and to create solutions that improve health. Driven by community voice, Responsive Grants are open, nimble, and responsive to emerging health issues and needs. These grants allow flexibility to test innovative ideas and different approaches to challenges and share what we and our partners are learning from the projects supported.

Call for Ideas

The Health Foundation invites non-profit organizations and entities in our nine-county region (Genesee, Livingston, Monroe, Ontario, Orleans, Seneca, Wayne, Wyoming, and Yates counties) to submit proposals for our Call for Ideas funding opportunity, supporting initiatives with a maximum request of $75,000, up to 18-months.

We recognize that this funding opportunity is taking place during a time of great change to nonprofit and funding landscapes. The Health Foundation will remain flexible and responsive to ensure resources align with our health equity mission and critical community needs.

What We Are Looking to Fund:

We are seeking proposals that respond to a variety of health equity efforts as part of our Responsive Grantmaking. We are looking for initiatives that are community-centered, share power with communities, and aim to tackle systemic health inequities in our region.

Funding may support a variety of activities such as programs, general operating expenses, compensation, or advocacy efforts, and should benefit communities that have historically been impacted by health inequities such as people of color, LGBTQIA+ individuals, people with disabilities, and rural populations.
