Summary

Note:*We are currently accepting applications for events taking place in Q4 (November, December, January 2026) and beyond, and we encourage you to apply as early as possible to increase your chances of receiving support. Community Event Fund The Greater Rochester Health Foundation values the power of community and fundraising events to strengthen connections between nonprofits and the people they serve. Through our Community Event Fund, we support events that promote health equity and advance initiatives in our nine-county region.

Eligibility

This fund is open to Health Foundation grantees and other mission-aligned nonprofits.Eligible Event Types:Annual dinners, luncheons, and galasAthletic fundraisers (golf tournaments, charity runs, etc.)Health fairs, screenings, and vaccine clinicsEducational community eventsStaff trainingsApplicant Requirements:Must have current 501(c)(3) nonprofit statusSubmit requests exclusively through our online portal (no phone or email requests)Request limit: up to $5,000Applications are reviewed quarterly, based on your event date (not the application date).Quarters:Q1: February–AprilQ2: May–JulyQ3: August–OctoberQ4: November–JanuaryWe fund projects that can improve the health of the communities in Genesee, Livingston, Monroe, Ontario, Orleans, Seneca, Wayne, Wyoming, and Yates counties. We define health as “a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity.”

Ineligibility

At this time, we have fully allocated all available funds for events taking place in quarter 3 (August, September, October).If you are applying for an event occurring during this quarter, please note that your request will be automatically declined due to limited funding availability, even if you are applying within the usual one-month window.Ineligible Applicants & Activities:Government entities, political groups, or capital campaignsEvents managed or funded through national headquarters. Local chapters must directly receive and manage funds.Late applications will be declined.Apply at least 4 weeks before your event.
