Program Description:
The Greenleaf Scholarship is a full-ride scholarship that covers tuition, fees, and living expenses for students during their two years at Copper Mountain College, and then through their transfer to a four-year university and completion of their bachelor's degree.
Background
The F. Roy Greenleaf, Jr. Education Fund was established by the estate of F. Roy Greenleaf, Jr., who came to the Morongo Basin in the 1970s and started a community bank. Mr. Greenleaf developed a close relationship with what is now the CMC Foundation and made a trust arrangement for his estate to be transferred to the Foundation after the death of his wife Beverlie. His legacy continues to change lives.- Primary Audience: Graduating Morongo Basin high school seniors
- Current Students: Also open to current CMC students
- Academic/Financial Criteria: Academic excellence and/or financial need are NOT the primary criterion
- Key Selection Criteria: Mr. Greenleaf desired that "average" deserving students have an equal chance. He was particularly interested in helping students who: - Possess strong determination to succeed - Have demonstrated extra effort - Have an abiding desire to help others in school, family, and community
