The Sergeant Dominic Vaca Memorial Scholarship supports Criminal Justice and Administration of Justice majors at Copper Mountain College. The scholarship was established through memorial donations from the community following the death of Sergeant Dominic Vaca.
Background
Sergeant Dominic Vaca was a 17-year veteran of the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department. He was shot and killed following a vehicle pursuit of a motorcycle in May 2021. Memorial donations poured in from fellow officers and friends, and the Foundation established this scholarship fund to help criminal justice students.- Target Audience: Current CMC students
- Program Requirement: Must be majoring in Criminal Justice OR Administration of Justice
- Academic Requirement: Maintain a 3.0 GPA or higher
