Grantmaking and Capacity Building Program

Overview: Memphis Equity Through Arts Inc. invests to build strong and effective organizations through operational grant funding and supports that foster sustainability and improve program quality.

Purpose: Support aims to enhance the capacity of nonprofit organizations to implement high-quality programs and to secure funding and other resources beyond those provided by MMI, building a sustainable black arts ecosystem for Memphis youth.

Geographic Scope: Memphis, Tennessee

Eligible Applicants: Nonprofit organizations focused on music engagement

Program Impact to Date:

  • MMI has invested just over $1 million to nearly 20 music engagement nonprofits

  • Impacting well over 1,500 youth since inception
