Fact (page-stated): Central Electric Cooperative (CEC) awards ten $3,000 Good Neighbor Scholarships for the 2027 school year to students who dedicate non-paid time to their community. Eligible applicants must be CEC members or their children, enrolled in a post-secondary institution, with the account in good standing. One-time award; previous winners and employees/directors' immediate families are ineligible. Note: member-restricted (Western PA electric co-op service area).

Fact (page-stated): Complete the two-page online application, submit a 500-word essay ('What does being a good neighbor mean to you?'), a letter of acceptance from a post-secondary institution, and a letter of recommendation from a non-relative. Scored on essay, recommendation, leadership, and volunteerism (weighted most). Fact: applications accepted December–March; due March 14, 2027 (page also states March 15 each year); recipients announced May 2027.
