Gold Medal Award for Excellence in Dental Research

Overview: Established in 1985 and presented every three years, honors individuals who through basic or clinical research have contributed to advancement of dentistry profession or major improvement in oral health of the public.

Sponsor: Sponsored by the ADA and Colgate.

Award Details:

  • Amount: $25,000 honorarium plus gold medallion

  • Travel: All expenses for recipient's travel and lodging covered

  • Additional Benefit: If eligible, recipient serves three-year term as member of ADA Council on Scientific Affairs

  • Fellowship: Recipient selects fellow to receive $20,000 to support their research

  • Recognition: Formal presentation ceremony
  • Frequency: Presented once every three years
