Overview: Established in 1991, recognizes an individual who has made significant contributions in clinical investigations that have advanced diagnosis, treatment, and/or prevention of craniofacial-oral-dental diseases, as well as outstanding research endeavors in other areas.

Background: Thirty distinguished recipients have received award since inception in 1991. Award recognizes investigators whose clinical research has had meaningful impact on clinical dentistry.

Nomination Instructions
1. Required Documentation:
- Concise letter of nomination describing nominee's accomplishments in context of award's objectives
- Nominee's curriculum vitae (CV)
- List of publications
- Letter must be explicit in describing impact of nominee's research on clinical dentistry
2. Selection Criteria:
- Scope of nominee's research
- Special emphasis on impact on clinical dentistry
- Publications in refereed journals
- High level of creativity and innovation
- Candidates who developed new materials AND conducted clinical trials to translate results to clinical application preferred
- Those who generated new insights into disease etiology/pathogenesis leading to changes in therapeutic/preventive measures
