Global Down Syndrome Educational Grants

Overview: A joint venture of the Global Down Syndrome Foundation and the National Down Syndrome Congress that awards local Down syndrome organizations with grants to launch educational programs benefiting the Down syndrome community.

Geographic Scope: United States (local Down syndrome organizations)

Eligibility:

  • Local Down syndrome organizations that are affiliates of the National Down Syndrome Congress
  • Focus Areas:

  • Educational programs for the Down syndrome community
  • Award Amount: Up to $15,000 each

    Background: This is an ongoing program; the second year of grants was announced in 2013. The inaugural round in 2012 received more than 30 submissions with recipients including:

  • Down Syndrome Association of Greater Richmond

  • Down Syndrome Association of Northern Virginia

  • Down Syndrome Society of Mobile County

  • Gold Coast Down Syndrome Organization

  • Down Syndrome Foundation of SE New Mexico

  • Down Syndrome Connection of the Bay Area
