Employment Awards Grant

The Global Down Syndrome Foundation offers Employment Awards aimed at enhancing job opportunities for individuals with Down syndrome. Grants of up to $2,000 are available for specific employment initiatives, such as hiring support or job coaching. To qualify, organizations must be 501(c)(3) certified and demonstrate clear impact metrics. This initiative seeks to address the funding disparities faced by the Down syndrome community while promoting inclusion in the workforce.

The Global Down Syndrome Foundation is a public non-profit 501(c)(3) dedicated to significantly improving the lives of people with Down syndrome through Research, Medical care, Education and Advocacy. Since Down syndrome is the least-funded genetic condition in the United States, fundraising and government advocacy to correct the alarming disparity of national funding for people with Down syndrome is a major goal.
Award applications must be submitted with a specific employee or employment program in mind. Examples of successful awards include underwriting for a hire, job coach, expanded hours, and vendors who employ or are run by people with Down syndrome.
Awards are issued in amounts up to $2,000 each.
Awards are issued on an annual basis and there is no limit to consecutive funding.

Eligibility

Applicant must be a GLOBAL Organization Member The award application must provide a clear way to measure impact that benefits people with Down syndrome.
Only organizations that are designated 501(c)(3) by the IRS can apply, or if located outside of the US, equivalent proof of government non-profit charitable status.Organizations should link from their website to the Global Down Syndrome Foundation (www.globaldownsyndrome.org) as a resource.An Award Agreement with terms of post-program reporting must be signed once an Awardee is chosen in order to access the Award funds.
