Overview

NOTE: We accept grant applications year-round. Keep in mind that you must submit the application at least six weeks before your activity begins, and that it typically takes approximately six to 12 weeks for review. What We Fund We support community-informed, data-driven programs that strengthen healthcare infrastructures and provide education and financial support to the most vulnerable communities around the world. Our corporate giving programs focus support where the need is greatest and we prioritize applications that demonstrate a strong capability to deliver the specific outcomes the grant would support. We also support the local communities in which we operate. To help ensure all people have the opportunity to get the best possible care – regardless of background – Gilead sponsors select events or conferences that raise awareness and support organizations working in our therapeutic areas of focus. Gilead Europe Grants We support projects in Europe and the Middle East across our therapeutic areas — HIV, liver diseases, hematology and oncology, and inflammatory and respiratory diseases. Funding Priorities Our grantmaking in Europe and the Middle East focuses on all our core therapeutic areas: HIV Liver Disease Hematology & Oncology Inflammatory and Respiratory Diseases Within these therapeutic areas, we support a broad range of activities, including: Disease awareness Disease prevention Professional education Improving access to care Improving quality of care Funding Gilead doesn’t place a limit on how much grantees can apply for. We want you to request the level of funding that you’ll need to make your project a success.

Eligibility

We work with patient advocates, nonprofits, and healthcare professionals across all our therapeutic areas of focus to improve care through partnerships and community engagement. Only tax exempt nonprofits are eligible. Grant funding is primarily awarded for direct programmatic support.

Ineligibility

Grants may not be provided:To pay for patient care, treatment and/or prescriptions To pay for general operating expenses or purchase of standard equipment or hardware at institutions in a position to influence, purchase or prescribe a Gilead product To support a healthcare practitioner’s expenses for attendance or travel to educational programs To individual healthcare professionals or for-profit physician group practices To pay honoraria of healthcare providers employed by or affiliated with the requesting organization To pay for advertising or creation of advertising materials related to a Gilead product To pay for development or production of promotional items related to any Gilead product To support the costs of government lobbying activities To compensate individuals who provide services to Gilead, such as speaking or advising To serve in lieu of a discount or price concession or as part of a contract negotiation To support clinical studiesGilead generally does not provide grant support for indirect costs of an organization or activity.
