Overview

NOTE: Grant applications are accepted throughout the year. Keep in mind that you must submit the application at least six weeks before your activity begins, and that it typically takes approximately six to 12 weeks for review. What We Fund We support community-informed, data-driven programs that strengthen healthcare infrastructures and provide education and financial support to the most vulnerable communities around the world. Our corporate giving programs focus support where the need is greatest and we prioritize applications that demonstrate a strong capability to deliver the specific outcomes the grant would support. Funding Priorities Our grantmaking in Asia focuses on the following therapeutic areas: HIV/AIDS Oncology Viral Hepatitis Within these therapeutic areas, we provide support for a broad range of projects, including: Disease awareness Disease prevention Professional education Improving patient access to care Improving quality of care Increasing scientific capacity Strengthening healthcare systems Funding Gilead doesn’t place a limit on how much grantees can apply for. We want you to request the level of funding that you’ll need to make your project a success.

Eligibility

Only tax exempt nonprofits are eligible. Grant funding is primarily awarded for direct programmatic support.

Ineligibility

Grants may not be provided:To pay for patient care, treatment and/or prescriptions To pay for general operating expenses or purchase of standard equipment or hardware at institutions in a position to influence, purchase or prescribe a Gilead product To support a healthcare practitioner’s expenses for attendance or travel to educational programs To individual healthcare professionals or for-profit physician group practices To pay honoraria of healthcare providers employed by or affiliated with the requesting organization To pay for advertising or creation of advertising materials related to a Gilead product To pay for development or production of promotional items related to any Gilead product To support the costs of government lobbying activities To compensate individuals who provide services to Gilead, such as speaking or advising To serve in lieu of a discount or price concession or as part of a contract negotiation To support clinical studiesGilead generally does not provide grant support for indirect costs of an organization or activity. Gilead does not provide retroactive funding.
