GIFT VII Community Leadership Grant

Community leadership grant awarded to CFMJC as one of 84 foundations in Indiana receiving GIFT VII funding in this round. The grant supports a three-year implementation timeline for evidence-based approaches to improve health outcomes in Jefferson County.

Strategic Goals:
1. Collect and analyze actionable data on ACEs, health-related risk behaviors and outcomes
2. Formalize commitments to strategic plan implementation among key stakeholders
3. Provide ACEs/trauma training opportunities for Jefferson County professionals working with children and families
4. Address the mental health shortage by increasing mental health staff and services
5. Increase utilization of strategies to prevent ACEs and increase resilience among priority populations
6. Develop and implement a county-wide communications plan
Background:
CFMJC received a $50,000 GIFT VII planning grant in 2019 to convene local stakeholders and identify opportunities and challenges. In March 2020, CFMJC was invited to apply for this Community Leadership Grant to implement identified strategies.
About GIFT VII:
Lilly Endowment created GIFT in 1990 to help Indiana communities develop philanthropic capacity. GIFT VII launched in 2018 with $125 million available to help foundations strengthen leadership capacities in their communities. Lilly Endowment expects to make additional GIFT VII grants.

4. Invited application: March 2020 invitation to apply for Community Leadership Grant
