Gerrit R. Ludwig Scholarship Fund

This scholarship was established for the benefit of high school graduates from East Hawai'i (Honoka’a to Ka‘u). Dr. Gerrit Ludwig was an ophthalmologist in Hilo with a love for fine arts and classics. He set up this fund to support students from East Hawai'i studying in these fields.

Eligibility

* Resident of the State of Hawai’i

* Demonstrate financial need (Financial aid letter from your college required to verify final award amount)
* Minimum GPA 2.5
* Graduate of an East Hawai’i public high school
* Major in a degree in fine arts or classics, including or closely related to:
* theatre/performing arts
* ceramics/sculpture
* literature/writing
* art
* painting
* dance
* drawing
* music
* photography
* philosophy
* Attend an accredited, four‐year institution within the US (including US territories)
* Attend as a full‐time student (as determined by your school’s financial aid office)
* Bachelor's or Graduate's degree‐seeking student
