Georgia Student Finance Commission Founded in 1965, the Georgia Student Finance Commission has become one of the most successful state student aid operations in the nation. First created to provide loans, the agency progressed to state- and lottery-funded scholarships, grants, service cancelable loan programs and providing free financial aid consultation. GSFC's mission is to ensure Georgians have an opportunity to access education beyond high school. Georgia College Completion Grant (GCCG) The Georgia College Completion Grant (GCCG) assists eligible students enrolled at an eligible postsecondary institution that is experiencing a financial aid gap with their cost of education. Eligible students enrolled in a two-year program must have completed a minimum of 45% of required credit hours. Eligible students enrolled in a four-year program must have completed a minimum of 70% of required credit hours. Eligible students must owe their institution for an outstanding balance of direct costs for the current term of enrollment. Grant awards are based on program requirements and available allocated funds at the eligible institutions - University System of Georgia (USG), Technical College System of Georgia (TCSG) or eligible Private non-profit postsecondary institutions in Georgia.

To be eligible to apply for a Georgia College Completion Grant, a student must: Meet U.S. citizenship or eligible non-citizen requirements;Meet the postsecondary institutions Georgia Residency requirements;Be enrolled at an eligible USG, TCSG or eligible private non-profit college or university in Georgia;Be enrolled in an associate degree or bachelor’s degree (undergraduate major) or a certificate or diploma program of study;Males must meet federal Selective Service registration requirements, per Georgia state law. The requirement to register applies to males who were born on or after January 1, 1960, are at least 18, are citizens or eligible non-citizens who came to the United States prior to age 26;Be in compliance with the Georgia Drug-Free Postsecondary Education Act of 1990, O.C.G.A. §20-1-20, et seq.Have completed at least a minimum of 45% or more of credit requirements of an eligible diploma, or certificate major or program of study or must have completed a minimum of 70% of required credit requirements or more of an eligible undergraduate degree major or program of study.Have a financial aid gap constituting an outstanding balance with the institution for Direct Costs.
