Gaston College Foundation Scholarships
Geographic Scope: Gaston College students (prospective and current)
Overview: The Gaston College Foundation stewards over 80 named annual and endowed scholarship funds for students. Over $1,000,000 in scholarship assistance has been provided over the past five years.
- Rolling basis with priority consideration for applications submitted by April 30
- Applications accepted beginning March 1
- Majority of awards made during summer months prior to fall semester
- FAFSA must be on file with Financial Aid Office (waivers available for legitimate reasons)
Application Process
- All prospective and current Gaston College students are eligible
- Must have a college email address (@mymail.gaston.edu)
- Must have already applied for admission to Gaston College
- Complete General Application required
- Award notifications begin approximately May 15
- Thank You Letter required by August 1 for accepted scholarships
- Scholarship recipients required to attend Scholarship Banquet in November (typically second Thursday)

How to Apply
1. Ensure FAFSA is on file with Financial Aid Office (required; waivers available)
2. Register for Academic Works scholarship platform:
- Use @mymail.gaston.edu email address
- Password must be exactly 8 characters with at least 1 digit, 1 uppercase letter, and 1 lowercase letter
- Confirm account via confirmation email (check spam folder)
3. Complete the General Application
4. Apply for additional scholarship opportunities with specific criteria if eligible
5. Receive confirmation prompt when General Application successfully completed
6. Applications can be edited after submission
- March 1: Applications open
- April 30: Priority deadline
- May 15: Award notifications begin
- August 1: Thank You Letter deadline
- November: Scholarship Banquet attendance required
