Butterfield Nutrition Travel Award Established in memory of Gail E. Butterfield, Ph.D., R.D., FACSM, this award assists doctoral students (one U.S. student and one international student) with travel expenses to present their nutrition research at the ACSM Annual Meeting. Dr. Butterfield was a valued member of ACSM, serving as a founding member of the Nutrition Special Interest Group, an active member of five committees (pronouncements, program, awards and tributes, liaisons ad hoc, and public information), and as a trustee of ACSM. She held faculty and research positions at the University of California – Berkeley, Stanford University, and the Palo Alto Veterans Administration Hospital.Eligibility

Open to doctoral students enrolled in full-time programs and conducting research in human subjects focused on protein metabolism, altitude and nutrition, energy balance, nutrition, and exercise interventions to improve metabolic health, and/or nutrition and the female athlete. Applicants must be the presenter of an abstract accepted at the ACSM Annual Meeting. You must be a member of this organization to apply for this award - become a member. Applicants must be an ACSM national member in good standing before applying. ACSM chapter membership alone does not fulfill this requirement.Ineligibility
