G3: Get a Skill, Get a Job, Get Ahead

Type: Virginia state-funded tuition assistance program

Geographic Scope: Virginia residents only

Eligibility:

  • Any Virginia resident

  • Regardless of any prior degree received

  • Must qualify for in-state tuition

  • Family income must fall below an identified threshold

  • Can use G3 for up to three years

  • Three-year time period begins first semester of G3 use and ends three years from that semester

    • Eligible Programs: Designated G3 eligible academic programs only

    How to Access: Complete FAFSA. Financial Aid office uses FAFSA to determine eligibility.

    Application Process

    1. Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
    2. Verify Virginia residency
    3. Financial Aid office will determine eligibility based on family income threshold
    4. If eligible, notification will be provided in Student Center
