FLEOA Foundation Scholastic Awards Program
Organization: Federal Law Enforcement Officers Association (FLEOA) Foundation
Geographic Scope: United States (children of federal law enforcement officers)
Focus Areas: Education scholarships for high school graduates
- Primary Requirement: Class of 2023+ high school graduates who are children of current/regular, retired, or deceased members of the Federal Law Enforcement Officers Association (FLEOA)
- Parent must be a current FLEOA member and have been an active member for a minimum of 2 years
- Exception: This 2-year requirement does not apply to children of FLEOA members who died in the line of duty
- Special consideration given to children of FLEOA members killed or disabled in the line of duty, or who died from medical complications
- Hardships and/or applicant's disability receive special consideration at committee's discretion
Eligibility
- Scholastic Ability: SAT/ACT scores and high school GPA
- Social Character: Based on community service, employment (not mandatory), and extracurricular activities
- Applications evaluated on overall assessment of content
- Committee will not discriminate based on race, color, religion, sexual/gender orientation, national origin, disability, or age

- One-time award (specific amounts have varied: $500 or $1,000 in some years)

How to Apply
Application Process
1. Application Window: Online applications accepted May 15 - June 30 annually
- Applications must be RECEIVED by June 30 (no late submissions processed)
2. Required Documents: Submit the following 2 items in one email to awards@fleoafoundation.org
- Signed, completed, and typed scholastic application
- Copy of college/university acceptance letter
- Note: Incomplete and/or unsigned applications will not be considered
3. Email Subject Line: "Applicant Name and Scholastic Award Application"
4. Current Information Required
- Provide current mailing address where mail will be received between July 1 and August 15
- If address changes after submission, must update awards@fleoafoundation.org
- Ensure parent contact information is correct on application
5. Submission Format
- Online applications only
- PDF documents accepted
- All documents must be uploaded with email
6. Award Notification Timeline
- Notifications sent by July 21 to email address on application
- Awards mailed by August 15
- Ensure name is spelled correctly on application (awards remitted via business check)
- FLEOA Foundation Scholastic Committee independently reviews and evaluates each application
- Awards based on Committee's overall assessment of application content
- Incomplete applications or those missing college acceptance letter will not be processed
