Overview

FEWA Foundation Scholarship

Purpose: Provide assistance to children of families involved in diverse workplaces who aspire to pursue scholastic endeavors post-high school or equivalent.

Geographic Scope: United States and internationally (not limited to U.S. educational institutions)

Focus Areas: Post-secondary education including college, trade school, culinary school, and other educational training

    Eligibility

  • Must be a son or daughter of an Employer or Worker in a company with a diverse workforce
  • Must pursue post-high-school scholastic or educational endeavors

    Award Structure

    Annual Budget: Approximately $15,000 divided into two $6,000 funds
  • Worker member scholarship fund: 3 awards of $1,000 and 6 awards of $500 annually (if funds allow)
  • Employer member scholarship fund: 3 awards of $1,000 and 6 awards of $500 annually (if funds allow)

    Eligibility Restrictions

  • FEWA Foundation scholarship may only be received once per individual
  • Family members of contributors to the scholarship fund are not eligible
  • Children of officers and directors of FEWA and FEWA Foundation are not eligible

Payment

Payment will be made directly to the educational institution

How to Apply

Application Requirements

Required Documentation:
1. One recommendation from a FEWA member (either employer-member or worker-member). Letter may be written by a relative and must be submitted with the application. (Additional recommendations accepted, limit 3 total)
2. Proof that applicant's parent, stepparent, or legal guardian is employed in a diverse workplace
3. Official transcript copy with presentation of grade point average or grade point average equivalent
4. Personal Statement/Essay describing career objectives (maximum 500 words)
5. Proof of admission to a post-high-school academic institution (letter of acceptance to school and contact information of school's admissions officer)
6. File upload of all required documentation (max 1 GB per file)

1. Complete the online application form with applicant information including:
- Full name, date, current and permanent address
- Current and permanent phone numbers
- Email address

2. Provide school information:
- Name of educational institution
- Institution phone number
- Institution address
- Name of admissions officer
- Major or course of study

3. Provide employer/worker information:
- Name of parent or legal guardian employed in diverse workplace
- Employer status (Worker or Employer)
- Company name
- Company phone
- Company address

4. List extracurricular activities and community involvement

5. Write personal statement (essay) describing career objectives (maximum 500 words)

6. Upload all required supporting documentation
