Feeder School Grants Program

Overview: Annual grants distributed to Roosevelt High School's elementary and middle school feeder schools to strengthen community bonds and set future Rough Riders up for success.

Geographic Scope: Des Moines, Iowa feeder schools including Callanan, Edmunds, Greenwood, Hanawalt, Hubbell, King, Merrill, and Windsor

Funding Source: 15% of earnings from the R Party event

Distribution: Approximately $9,500 in 2024

Eligible Schools: Roosevelt High School feeder elementary and middle schools

Focus Areas:

  • Reading fluency programs

  • After-school art clubs

  • Recess equipment

  • Specialized literature for social-emotional learning (SEL)

  • Student enrichment club activities (STEM, coding, art, team sports)
