Federal Pell Grant Federal Pell Grants are available to undergraduate degree candidates only. Federal Pell Grant eligibility is determined by the U.S. Department of Education from the information provided on the FAFSA form, and the calculation of a valid Student Aid Index (SAI) on the student’s FAFSA Submission Summary. Federal Pell Grant award amounts will vary based on a student’s calculated SAI and enrollment intensity per semester. Students may only receive the Federal Pell Grant for a maximum of six years of full-time enrollment, or its equivalent (for example, 12 years of half-time enrollment).
