Overview

FCBA Foundation College Scholarship Program

Purpose: Provides financial support and laptop computers to DC public high school students to assist them in attending college.

Geographic Scope: Washington, D.C. public high school students

Eligibility:

  • High school seniors in Washington, D.C.

  • Interest in technology, media, and telecommunications law and policy or STEAM-related fields is a plus but not essential

  • Selection based on academic achievements, service to school and community, and financial need
  • Award Details:

  • Individual scholarships range from $8,000 to $20,000

  • In 2025, the Foundation committed $295,000 to 22 graduating seniors

  • Scholarships awarded over four years of college matriculation

  • Includes laptop computers
  • Program History:

  • Over 30 years old

  • Has helped 437 local high school students attend college
  • Timeline:

  • Application deadline: Mid-February annually

  • Interviews: Early April

  • Award notifications: Before May
