The Foundation provides financial and other support to students through scholarship grants and other forms of educational support, consistent with its 501(c)(3) charitable mission.- Admitted to or enrolled as a full-time or part-time undergraduate student at a four-year college or university
- Enrolled as a full-time high school student
- Graduate of a four-year college or university with existing student loan or related educational debt

Special Preferences
In certain cases, selection may be limited to or preference given to students attending:(Based on donor-based restrictions)
- Minimum Award: $10,000 or higher per recipient
- Award Frequency: Typically one-time awards, though may assist recipients over four years of college/university or high school
- Recent Graduates: Awards available to recent college graduates to alleviate student loans or related educational debt
- Award Recipients: Will be required to submit Scholarship Requisition form, proof of enrollment, class schedules, and periodic reports on fund usage and continued good standing
Award Details
- Members of the Selection Committee and their immediate families (during tenure)
- Members of the Foundation's Board of Directors and their immediate families (during tenure)
- Substantial Donors (listed on Schedule B of Form 990) and their immediate families (during donor status)
Award Ineligibility
The following individuals are ineligible for awards:- Applications Open: February 12, 2026

How to Apply
Application Requirements
All completed applications and accompanying documentation must be received by April 30, 2026 to be considered.
Required Application Materials
A complete application consists of the following:
1. Personal and Education Information
- Name, birthdate, contact phone, email
- Street address, city, state, ZIP code
- Education status (high school student, undergraduate, or college graduate with debt)
- Relevant school/university names and expected/actual graduation dates
2. Academic Performance and Records
- Official high school transcript (if applicable)
- Official college/university transcript (if applicable)
- Grade Point Average (minimum 3.0 GPA preferred)
- SAT/ACT scores (if required by educational institution and applicable)
3. Personal Statement (Typed, 1-2 pages)
- All honors and awards received in high school and college/university
- Description of career goals
- Field of study and/or career goals
- Special personal or family circumstances affecting need for financial assistance
- Athletic and/or leadership experiences (if applicable)
- Any other pertinent information
4. Letter of Recommendation
- From applicant's academic dean, advisor, guidance counselor, or professor/teacher/coach
- For recent college graduates: from a professional colleague or coach
- May be uploaded with application or emailed to scholarship@farrellboy.org (include full name in subject line)
5. Evidence of Financial Need
- Most recent tax forms of parents/legal guardian, OR
- One-page single-spaced essay on why financial aid is needed
6. Financial Need Essay (for college graduates with debt)
- One-page single-spaced essay explaining why financial assistance is needed
- Include current student loan debt amount (USD)
7. Listing of Other Sources of Financial Assistance (if applicable)
- Document any current aid, grants, or scholarships from other institutions
- Include source, date received, amount, and frequency (one-time or recurring)
8. Signed Information Release Form
- Grants Foundation right to use name, information, and photographic images for promotional purposes
- Releases Foundation from liability for use of name, image, and likeness
- Parents/guardians must sign for minors
9. Signed Application Acknowledgement
- Applicant certifies all information is true and correct
- Applicant agrees to notify Foundation immediately of any changes to submitted information
- Parents/guardians must sign for minors
- Electronic signatures (including DocuSign) accepted
