Purpose: The Eastern Vascular Society (EVS) is committed to supporting Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI). One of the goals of the society is to encourage members who identify as women, LGBTQ+ or underrepresented minorities in medicine (URiM) to enter and succeed within the specialty. Additionally, the EVS works to ensure that the gap with respect to women or minority group surgeons in leadership positions is addressed and that DEI research initiatives in vascular surgery are supported. To this end, the EVS Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee, in collaboration with industry, are offering a DEI Grant program for those identifying LGBTQ+, URiM, or women surgeons desiring to develop or improve their leadership skills, and/or for research projects focused on DEI in vascular surgery. Three awards of $5,000 each will be provided to three EVS Active or Candidate Members. These awards can be used for travel, hotel accommodations, and registration expenses to attend specific courses and/or other leadership training and development opportunities and activities, or for expenses related to a DEI-focused project.Eligibility
