Background: The Esther Moore Chandler family donated over $100,000 to endow a perpetual scholarship to honor the memory of their beloved mother. From the invested principal, a $5,000 scholarship is awarded yearly to support the study by Adams County students in one of the Health Care Sciences.

About Esther Moore Chandler:

• Born in Scioto County
• As a young woman, was involved in community and church
• Played organized sports (softball)
• Was a giver with a dynamic, energetic personality and generous heart
• Demonstrated immense strength of character and resolve
• Raised children and farmed in Tiffin Township with her husband Joe until her death in 1957

The Chandler Family:

• Children: Don Chandler (with Marilyn), Bob Chandler (with Shirley), Wayne Chandler (with Mikko), and Carol Sue (with Michael)
• Felt empowered by their mother's spirit and love
• Wanted her goodness and generosity to be always remembered
• Chose the Adams County Medical Foundation as the trustee for this perpetual scholarship
