Background: This scholarship honors Dr. Bruce M. Ashley, M.D., who joined the medical staff at Adams County Hospital in 1974 and served as Emergency/Outpatient Director and Adams County Health Commissioner for over 40 years. A man of many talents — country doctor, sailor, pilot, poet, and musician — he touched the lives of thousands before his unexpected passing on May 5, 2016.

About Dr. Bruce M. Ashley, M.D.:

• Joined medical staff at Adams County Hospital in 1974
• Served as Emergency/Outpatient Director for 40+ years
• Served as Adams County Health Commissioner from 1974–2016
• Practiced emergency and family medicine
• Was a talented individual with multiple interests: country doctor, sailor, pilot, poet, and musician
• Touched the lives of thousands in the community
• Passed away unexpectedly on May 5, 2016
