Eligibility

Applicant eligibility:Be high school seniors residing or graduates who have resided in and attending a high school in Broward County, FL. • Have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0 on a 4.0 scale. • Have a passing score of at least 350 on the FSA (Florida Standards Assessment Test) or SAT/ACT concordant score. • Demonstrate financial need. • Plan to attend full-time a two-year technical, trade or vocational school in pursuit of a trade or vocational degree or certificate. This scholarship is open only to students pursuing a trade, not to students pursuing an office job. Institutional requirements:Recipients must attend a college that offers a technical program of study with plans to receive a technical certificate or associate degree. All recipients must be full-time each semester and working toward an undergraduate degree.The institution must be an educational organization that normally maintains a regular faculty and curriculum and normally has a regularly enrolled body of pupils or students in attendance at the place where its educational activities are regularly carried on.Scholarship usage:Subject to the trust terms, the awards will be applied to the cost of tuition, fees, books and supplies and should not exceed these costs.Scholarship awards must be used in the year they are awarded.This scholarship may be renewable for (1) one additional year of technical instruction, or until an associate's degree or certificate is awarded, whichever is earlier.
