Overview

National School Lunch Program (NSLP) Request for Application (RFA) Equipment Assistance Grant Overview: The FY 2024 Agriculture Appropriations Act provides funds to State Agencies to competitively award Equipment Assistance Grants to Eligible School Food Authorities (SFAs) and Local Educational Agencies (LEAs) participating in the National School Lunch Program (NSLP) and/or the School Breakfast Program (SBP). The funds allow SFAs to purchase equipment that improves the school Child Nutrition (CN) Program in the following ways: improve the quality of school meals;serve healthier meals that meet the updated meal patterns with emphasis on serving more fruits and vegetables, which includes items purchased locally;improve food safety; andimprove and expand participation in the NSLP and/or SBP

Multiple schools in the same SFA may apply – separate applications must be submitted for each school/site.b. Charter schools participating in NSLP/SBP under an SFA Sponsor must have the Sponsor complete the application. (Sponsoring SFAs will be responsible for managing grant funds).
