Overview

Grant Focus Areas The Episcopal Foundation of Dallas offers one grant cycle per year in the early spring. We direct financial support to the Diocesan community through our grant program benefiting parishes, schools, and other not-for-profit agencies throughout the geographic boundaries of the Dallas Diocese. The Foundation prioritizes grants to support its mission of partnering wise investments and purposeful giving within the Episcopal Diocese of Dallas, including development of new and existing churches, schools, missions, and ministries. The Foundation also supports organizations and programs that are focused on mission-related projects, social outreach and other creative programs that strengthen our community and improve lives, and which support basic human needs in these areas: Food Insecurity – organizations and social outreach programs that provide food to underserved populations Homelessness – organizations that work to prevent homelessness, provide emergency shelter or temporary housing, and facilitate collaboration among service providers Poverty –organizations that work to break the cycle of poverty with resources, referrals and services that strengthen families and neighborhoods. Health Insecurity – organizations that provide free/low-cost healthcare, including mental healthcare.

Eligibility

Applying organizations must be located and serve in the same geographic area as the Episcopal Diocese of Dallas which includes a 25 county area in North Texas.An organization must be either: an Episcopal church, school, mission, or program; or or a charitable not-for-profit organization whose submitted program or project is consistent with the Christian ministry and missions of the Episcopal Foundation of Dallas and the Episcopal Diocese of Dallas.Applying organization must submit proof of tax exempt status. Applying organization must submit a completed application by the application deadline. Organizations that have applied previously are still required to submit a complete application. Organizations that received funding from the Foundation in a prior year must submit a brief, final, written report detailing the use of funds and results of the program/project by the application deadline in order for a new application to be considered.

Ineligibility

The Foundation usually does not make grants supporting annual fund campaigns, deficit financing, debt repayment, and underwriting for fundraising activities, unless a clear case can be made that the request supports the priorities of the Diocese of Dallas.
