Overview

NOTE: This is for Episcopal Faith Communities Grant only. If you are interested in the Sheltering Arms Foundation direct-service or advocacy grant, they can be found here. Episcopal Congregations Caring for Minnesota’s Children Honoring over 140 years of serving Minnesota’s vulnerable children and 40+ years as a foundation with this mission, Sheltering Arms Foundation continues its ongoing grantmaking partnership with Episcopal faith communities. This small program offers grants of up to $2,000 to Minnesota Episcopal congregations, supporting their efforts in building potential for vulnerable children. Types of projects funded We aim to support projects that help faith communities improve the lives of vulnerable children and youth. This could be a program that supports the congregation’s children or serves children and youth in need in their community. The funds could also go toward advocacy efforts in the community on behalf of vulnerable children. Examples of such projects could include a tutoring program for young English learners, a nursery run by a congregation for low-income children, an effort to educate a congregation about children’s issues at the legislature, or a teen service program to benefit children in need. Given the multiple crises affecting our communities in Minnesota, outreach efforts by the church and/or youth to help children, youth, and families meet their basic needs will also be considered.
