Overview:
York County has been awarded federal funds under the Emergency Food and Shelter National Board Program for Phase 40 (and previously Phase 37 and Phase CARES COVID-19). United Way of York County administers a local board that distributes these federal funds to eligible nonprofits and government agencies to supplement emergency food and shelter programs.

Eligibility Requirements for Local Agencies

Local agencies chosen to receive funds must: 1. Be a private voluntary nonprofit or unit of government 2. Be located in and serve residents of York County 3. Be eligible to receive Federal funds and provide agency Federal Tax ID number and Unique Entity Identifier (UEI) 4. Meet financial accounting standards 5. Practice nondiscrimination 6. Demonstrate capability to deliver emergency food and/or shelter programs 7. If a private voluntary organization, must have a voluntary board 8. Meet required documentation and reporting standards for utilization of Federal funds

  • Ongoing program substitution or reimbursement
  • Services not directly related to emergency food and shelter
  • Organizations not serving York County residents
