Edward Yoshiharu Sakuma & Kay Kubo Sakuma Education Honors Scholarship Grant

The Edward Yoshiharu Sakuma & Kay Kubo Sakuma Education Honors Scholarship, established in 2018, aims to alleviate the shortage of qualified public school teachers in Hawaii. This scholarship is offered to full-time graduate students at the University of Hawaii - Manoa College of Education who demonstrate financial need and are committed to teaching in the state's public school system. Eligible candidates should have a strong character and leadership experience.

NOTE: The Application deadline is represented by the Pre proposal deadline. The Letters of Recommendation deadline is represented by the Full Proposal deadline.

Eligibility

Demonstrate financial need
Be a full-time student (as determined by your school's financial aid office)
Attend University of Hawai'i - Manoa, College of Education
Graduate of a public high school or equivalent in the State of Hawai'i
Committed to teaching in the State of Hawai'i public school system
Demonstrated volunteer and extra-curricular activities with leadership roles
