Edward & Fuzzy Gipstein Scholarship Grant

The Edward & Fuzzy Gipstein Scholarship, established by the Community Foundation of Eastern Connecticut, honors Dr. Edward Gipstein and his wife, Fuzzy, for their commitment to the New London area. This scholarship supports students with financial need pursuing education in medicine, healthcare, or the arts, promoting equity and opportunity for future leaders. With a mission centered on addressing community needs, CFECT aims to create lasting positive change through philanthropy and collaboration.

With an asset base exceeding $120 million and over $100 million awarded in grants and scholarships, the Foundation acts as a philanthropic hub connecting donors to community needs and opportunities. Guided by values of equity, social justice, transparency, accountability, and inclusivity, CFECT focuses on four key priorities: empowering youth, advancing basic needs and rights, preserving the environment, and promoting animal welfare. Established on Dr. Edward Gipstein's 95th birthday, the fund honors him and his wife, Fuzzy Gipstein, and their dedication to the New London area. The scholarship honors Dr. Gipstein's commitment to medical practice at Lawrence+ Memorial Hospital and Fuzzy's dedicated career at the Lyman Allyn Art Museum.

Eligibility

For students with financial need who have a commitment to furthering their education in medicine or a healthcare field, or in the arts.
