Education Fund Project Program

Overview: Invests in learning opportunities that strengthen individuals, organizations, and communities across Alabama.

Focus Areas:

  • Workforce development

  • K-12 schools and higher education

  • Libraries

  • Conferences and workshops

  • Senior education initiatives

  • Collaborative resource-sharing efforts
  • Geographic Scope: Alabama statewide through nine RC&D Councils covering all 67 counties

    Eligibility:

  • Non-profit organizations

  • Units and sub-units of government

  • Projects that have an educational component
  • Mission: Expands access to knowledge and practical skills that drive community and economic advancement through strategic partnerships and targeted funding to foster long-term growth, improve quality of life, and help make Alabama a better place to live, work, and thrive.

    How to Apply

    1. Determine Your Council: All 67 counties in Alabama belong to one of nine RC&D Councils. Find your local council at alabamarcd.org.

    2. Application Period: Applications accepted April 1 - June 30 for the fiscal year beginning October 1.

    3. Submission Process:
    - Applications are now submitted through Foundant software (Grantee Portal)
    - New users: Click "Create New Account" to complete registration and create login credentials
    - Existing users: Enter your credentials and log in
    - Forgot password: Use the "Forgot your Password?" link to reset

    4. Account Requirements:
    - You must provide a second point of contact when creating your account
    - Select the RC&D Council you wish to apply with
    - If unsure which council to apply with, use the "Find Your Local Council" tool
