Summary

The EBSCO Community Impact Grant Program supports initiatives in education, environment, human services, and arts and culture. This grant is available to 501(c)(3) organizations serving specific counties in Alabama. Applicants may submit a Letter of Inquiry, but full proposals are by invitation only. EBSCO is dedicated to enhancing community well-being through innovative programs that promote equitable education, environmental protection, and access to basic human services.

Overview

NOTE: Applicants are eligible to receive funding only once during EBSCO’s fiscal year which is July 1 – June 30.Letter of Inquiry -  If your organization meets the criteria listed in the Grant Application Guidelines, you may begin the process to submit an LOI. Full Proposal - Invite Only - This stage in the process will only be open to those who have received an invitation to apply from the EBSCO Community Impact Committee based on the LOI submission.  During this stage of the process, we may contact you regarding a site visit or questions we may have about your proposal. Every organization will not necessarily be contacted. EBSCO Community Impact Grant Program EBSCO Community Impact is committed to supporting and enhancing the arts, the advancement of quality education, protecting and preserving the environment, and increasing access to basic human services. Grant Focuses Educational Advancement In Alabama, the link between quality education and quality of life is undeniable. Ensuring access to exceptional education and meaningful career opportunities is essential for individual well-being, building resilience, and driving sustainable progress across our communities. We prioritize funding to organizations and initiatives that are: Building best-in-class education systems, programs, and leaders.Advancing policies, systems, and cultures to improve education quality for all students in Alabama.Training the next generation of education leaders.Offering quality arts education to historically marginalized populations. Environmental Stewardship Protecting the environment and preserving Alabama’s abundant natural resources are ongoing priorities of EBSCO Community Impact. We believe that safeguarding our water and air, conserving land, maintaining public green spaces, and ensuring a clean environment are essential for personal health and vibrant communities. We prioritize funding to organizations and initiatives that are: Dedicated to safeguarding Alabama’s natural resources and championing policy initiatives that protect our environment for future generations.Implementing measures to monitor and improve air quality, promoting a healthier environment for all residents.Preserving natural spaces that educate the public about the natural world.Protecting Alabama’s rivers and water resources to ensure clean water for public health, recreation, and wildlife habitat. Community Services EBSCO Community Impact is committed to funding comprehensive support services that advance educational success and safeguard Alabama’s environment. We prioritize funding to organizations and initiatives that are: Supporting initiatives that aim for systemic change.Responding to urgent and emerging needs within the community.Providing services that impact educational attainment and protection of natural resources.Helping parents nurture their children’s healthy development.

Eligibility

Requests from 501(c)(3) organizations are limited to those that serve the following counties: Jefferson, Shelby, Blount, St. Clair, Walker, Dallas, Greene, Hale, Perry, Marengo, Sumter.Organizations that serve outside of these counties that EBSCO has funded in the past can apply.Statewide organizations that previously received EBSCO funding are eligible to apply.Statewide organizations involved in influencing policy in one of EBSCO’s focus areas will also be considered.We will consider providing support for programs, capital campaigns and general operating support.To qualify to apply for a grant, new organizations must have been in operation for a minimum of two years and have other financial supporters.Multi-year requests are only considered on a limited basis for a maximum period of three years.

We do not fund the following:Political candidates and political partiesRecreational and/or youth sports leaguesHealth, medical, and disease-specific initiativesHealth-related academic researchIndividualsEvent or fundraising sponsorships*Individual school classrooms or programsReligious organizations for religious purposesUnited Way Agencies operating expensesOrganizations that have been in operation for less than two yearsOrganizations outside of Alabama
