Ebell/Flint Scholarship Program
Overview: For the past 106 years, the Ebell/Flint Scholarship Fund has provided financial assistance to dedicated undergraduate students who live and attend school in Los Angeles County.
- Amount: $3,000 per year for two-year community college students; $5,000 per year for four-year university students
- Duration: Scholarships continue for a maximum of three years while enrolled as an undergraduate and maintaining Ebell eligibility requirements
- Total Impact: Over 4,800 scholars have been helped, totaling over $10 million in awards
Award Details
- Applicants: Male and female undergraduate students of any major
- Institutions: Currently attending private or public non-profit colleges or universities in Los Angeles County
- Academic Status: Must have completed first year of studies
- Geographic Scope: Los Angeles County residents who attend school in Los Angeles County

Application Process
Application Components:
1. Online Application with Personal Statement
- Submit completed and signed online application
- Personal statement must address all three of the following:
- Your immediate and long-term goals as related to your field of study
- Your community service or extra-curricular involvement including your leadership roles
- Personal challenges you have faced and how you addressed them, OR a lived experience that has shaped the way you contribute to your community
2. Required Financial Documents
- Your FAFSA Submission Summary
- Your school's cost of attendance
- Financial Aid Award Letter from your school
3. Letters of Recommendation
- Three letters of recommendation required
- Must be from: faculty member, professional or work manager, counselor, teacher, or religious leader
- Family members or peers' letters will NOT be considered
- Can be emailed or mailed to the scholarship office
4. Official Transcripts
- Official transcripts must be uploaded into the application portal
