East Angel Foundation Student Scholarships

Geographic Scope: East High School, Denver, CO

Eligibility: Graduating seniors from East High School

Award Types:

  • Cleworth LEAP Scholarship: $100,000 total ($25,000/year for four years) - For exceptional academic and extracurricular achievement

  • East Alumni Scholarship: $8,000 - Awarded to the most outstanding student based on academic achievement and community involvement

  • Thomas W. Bean Foundation Scholarship: $5,000 each

  • Class of 1967, 1968, and 1969 Scholarship: $5,000

  • James Reece, Class of 1960 Scholarship: $4,000

  • Class of 1985 Scholarship: $5,000

  • Additional EAF Scholarships: Varying amounts
  • History: The East High School Alumni Scholarship Fund was established in 1926 by the classes of 1923–1926 and revived in 1995. Since 2011, EAF has expanded and managed the program. Since the program's revival, EAF has awarded $1,005,000 to 484 graduating seniors. The Cleworth LEAP Scholarship marks its 10th anniversary in 2025, having awarded over $1 million to 13 exceptional students since 2016.

    2025 Awards: 22 scholarships totaling $77,000, with focus on:

  • 18 women recipients

  • 6 English as second language speakers

  • 9 first-generation college students

  • Recipients with Expected Family Contribution (EFC) under $30,000
  • Values: Diversity, academic excellence, character, community & extracurricular involvement
