Overview

About Us We’re about connecting people with the needs of the community. We do this by connecting individual gifts to nonprofits through grants. Our knowledge about important issues facing the Fox Valley Region is based on strong relationships with nonprofits and our unwavering pursuit of understanding our community needs. Individual gifts, when joined with others given through the Community Foundation for the Fox Valley Region, ensure the impact lasts forever so that our community will always flourish. We are a tax-exempt, publicly supported nonprofit organization managing charitable funds — mostly permanent endowments — created by many families, businesses and organizations. These funds generate grants for the long-term benefit of the people of the Fox Valley region of Wisconsin. Earl A. and Elaine M. Fetting Scholarship Dr. Earl A. Fetting graduated from Appleton West High School, attended Lawrence University, and then transferred to Marquette School of Dentistry where he graduated in 1946. He also served with the U.S. Navy during WW II and interned at the Forsyth Dental Infirmary, in Boston. Dr. Fetting practiced dentistry in Sheboygan from 1949 – 1951 and in Appleton until his retirement in 1990. Elaine loved to sing and studied voice privately at the Wisconsin Conservatory of Music and the Lawrence University Conservatory of Music. She performed in several operas at Lawrence University and sang lead parts in musicals with Attic Theater and The Riverside Players. Elaine also presented programs with children for the Appleton Memorial Hospital Auxiliary called “Petite Musicals.” This was one of her favorite activities. Elaine and Earl enjoyed 47 years of happiness together until his passing in 2001. Prior to Elaine’s death in 2016, she initiated a bequest to establish this scholarship fund to support Fox Valley students who plan to attend Marquette University’s School of Dentistry with the cost of attendance. Award Amount Total of $30,000 available for scholarship(s), payable for the fall semester for cost of attendance. The scholarship can be awarded to 1 or 2 students annually.
